The Story Behind Between the Sheets
As a photographer, I kept hearing the same words from women who came into my studio:
“Can you hide my stomach?”
“Make me slimmer.”
“I need to lose weight before I can be photographed.”
It didn’t matter their age, size, or background, the story was the same.
So many women were apologizing for their bodies before I even lifted my camera.
Those words stayed with me.
I realized women weren’t just asking for photographs, they were asking for permission to feel okay in their own skin.
So in 2022, I started Between the Sheets: a portrait series where 20 women were photographed wrapped in a simple white sheet. No makeup, no expectations — just truth.
The portraits were raw and breathtaking, capturing both vulnerability and strength. They grew into a gallery exhibition that touched hearts and opened conversations.
Now, the project continues as The Reclamation Sessions; a space where photography and healing come together.
A space for women who are ready to stop hiding and start reclaiming their bodies and their stories.
